The James M. Dixon Foundation for Alzheimer's Research and Support, in association with the Medical Association of Atlanta (MAA), is proud to offer a scholarship to medical students at Morehouse School of Medicine with a keen focus on neurology, as well as those pursuing a career in primary care due to its vital role in supporting caregivers and individuals living with Alzheimer's. This scholarship aims to inspire and support students committed to making a significant impact in their communities.
Recipients of this scholarship will receive $2,500 during their studies as an initial show of support. An additional $2,500 will be awarded upon graduation, contingent on their continued pursuit of neurology or primary care. This scholarship not only provides financial assistance but also emphasizes the importance of medical professionals dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
The goal of this scholarship is to foster a network of future medical professionals who are not only academically exceptional but also deeply committed to serving communities. This scholarship is a step towards empowering the next generation of neurologists and primary care physicians to bring hope, innovation, and better care to patients and families navigating these challenges.
